Grinding it out in Harriman

another mother's day, another Harriman road race. I guess i found the key to doing well. Set very low goals for yourself. With bad legs, I thought I'd be lucky to do three laps in the field. Not only did I do six and only got dropped my last time up the 2.5 mile hump to Lake Tiorati, but I also climbed the Tiorati Brook Road hill faster than ever before. Because of my seemingly bad state I rode ultra-conservative, and didn't go with even what appeared to be weak attacks. I instead paced the field, which lost riders off the back and front all day. I did enough to keep it going, but didn't attack unless someone attacked me. I would have been running for 42nd if I hadn't had a sleepy feeder who missed me as I was running out of water. When the legs were about to seize, I sat up, lost eight minutes to my group in the final 10 miles and rolled in 54th.

Doan was 37th in the 40+
Davic C was 43rd in the IIIs
