all for karaoke

Had to skip Jiminy yesterday. I was signed up and ready to go and then realize the wedding I was slated to attend was at 6pm, not 7pm back in NYC. with 7pm, I had an hour cushion, 6, I had nothing. The estimated finish time was 2:09pm. If I got into a friend's car at 2:30 (21 minutes to jawjack and change) and then we did the drive in 2.5 hours, I"d get home at 5, allowing me 7 minutes to shower, 5 to get dressed, 2 to fill a bag with the NY Times, and then head for the train. The drive is about 150 miles or so, but the problem is the final 20 miles or so from Westchester back into the city. Too tight, and since the guy getting married is a racer, it would be hard to fool him. So I did the Gimbels on Saturday where I hurt the field on the climbs, but didn't win the sprints. so made the wedding on time, did Karaoke with the wedding from 10:30 to 2am, caught a fast train home. In bed by 2:45. Up at 9:19, then dressed and out the door by 10 for a 75 mile ride to Garrison, NY. I knew it would be slow with the wind and climbing, but five hours was longer than I expected. And yes, I did not have the fresh feeling. Good training. I hope.
