Getting better
Second Race. This time Bert brought in Jim, and ?. Igor showed up in another jersey. In a flash, we go from close teammates to bitter enemies. Not really. Just means we're more free to attack each other. And on the last lap, we were headed for a showdown. I got away on 110berg. The guys blocked behind. Jonathan Erdelyi came up to me and we were motoring to catch Igor and Marty who were chasing Riffelmacher and Morras. Then Steve Ward pulled up with a huge wheelsucking sprinter on his wheel. Steve is always good in a break but the huge wheelsucking sprinter is always a pain. he never works and always sprints. Everyone has been burned by him. I decide to do everyone a favor and take the huge wheelsucking sprinter out of the break. Of course, it means enduring his curses and abuse, but I thought I could tail him off and then get back. I couldn't, at least not without him getting on my wheel again. Ugh. Sorry team. I should have waited until we were within a kilometer of the finish before taking the huge wheelsucking sprinter out of the break. My mistake. And then I compounded my error by not stringing out the pack to make for a fast and safe finish. sorry.

The Season has begun
Ah march. The first Sunday in March ALWAYS means the Spring Series. On Saturday, some of the guys raced at Branchbrook and learned the hard way why BB is not good in the spring. Can you say CRASH? Marc S. got taken out, which dented his top tube, wrecked his brand new front wheel, and gave him a serious knock in the head. Marc is now two for two; his last two races have yielded crashes. Ah, marc.
Sunday meant Bert, Doan and I were in for the I-II-III. We were surprised to see Igor on the line, but glad all the same. Igor was energetic as usual, and made the winning break happen on the first lap. None of us were good enough to get up there with him, though we tried and tried.
